1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to Unik Hands, a domestic staffing platform operated by Unique Hands Services Limited (trading as Unik Hands) ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, web app or mobile app (the "Site" and "services"), you ("user" or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
2. Use of the Site & Services
The Site and our services are offered for your personal or business use, subject to your compliance with these Terms.
- You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old or of legal age in your jurisdiction, and that you have the right, power and authority to enter into these Terms.
- You agree to use the Site and services only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Job Posts. Every job post must say whether the job is live-in or live-out and meet the minimum monthly salary published on Unik Hands (currently ₦85,000 for live-in jobs and ₦120,000 for live-out jobs). Live-in jobs must provide accommodation and feeding. We may refuse or close job posts that do not meet these rules.
3. Description of Service
Unik Hands is a recruitment platform that connects verified domestic workers with trusted employers. Our services include:
- Worker verification and background checks
- Employer verification and screening
- Job posting and matching services
- Premium placements, where our team sources and vets staff for an employer
- In-app communication, messaging and interviews
- Wallets and salary payments, provided with our banking partner 9PSB
- Rating and review system
4. Accounts & Security
Some services require you to register and create an account. You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and your transaction PIN, and must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
5. Prohibited Uses
You agree you will not:
- Use the Site or services in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Use the Site to infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our network or services.
- Use any robot, spider, scraper, or other automated means to access the Site.
- Upload malicious code or anything designed to disrupt the Site.
6. Content & Intellectual Property
The Site and all of its content (including text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, software) are the property of Unik Hands or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
7. Payment & Fees
If you use any paid services, you agree to pay the applicable fees and taxes. The current fees are shown on our pricing page and in the app before you pay, and may change from time to time.
- Verification Fees. Staff and employers each pay a one-time verification fee for identity checks, background checks and, for staff, guarantor confirmation.
- Employer Plan. Employers can choose the yearly Employer plan to post jobs and hire through the app. It lasts 12 months from payment and can be renewed.
- Premium Placements. Employers can book a Premium placement, paid per placement. For each one, our team sources and vets a candidate for the role described (including medical vetting), provides a uniform for the role and gives dedicated support. Each Premium placement also keeps the account on Premium Employer for 12 months from the latest placement, during which posting jobs is free. Staff hired through an employer's own job posts are regular placements, not Premium placements.
- Premium Staff. Verified staff can choose the yearly Premium Staff plan. It lasts 12 months from payment and can be renewed.
- No Commission. No commission or fee is taken when a salary is paid. Workers keep 100% of their salary.
- Refunds. Verification fees are not refundable once the checks have been run. Plan and Premium placement fees are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If you were charged in error or charged twice, contact support and we will put it right.
8. Disclaimers
The Site and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
