Pricing and payments
How much does Unik Hands cost?
Creating an account is free. Employers pay a one-time employer verification fee of ₦5,000 and then choose how to hire: the Employer plan at ₦30,000 a year (₦35,000 in the first year, including verification), or Premium Employer at ₦250,000 per Premium placement, with no yearly plan fee. Staff pay a one-time verification fee of ₦10,000, and verified staff can choose Premium Staff at ₦20,000 a year. No commission or fee is taken when salary is paid, so staff keep their full salary. Fees can change; the current fees are shown on our pricing section and in the app before you pay.
What is the difference between Employer and Premium Employer?
With Employer you pay ₦30,000 a year and hire yourself: post unlimited jobs, review verified applicants, message and interview them in the app, and pay salaries from your wallet. With Premium Employer there is no yearly plan fee and posting jobs is free; you pay ₦250,000 for each Premium placement, where our team hand-picks the right candidate for your role, adds extra vetting and medical vetting, provides a customised uniform for the role, and gives you dedicated support throughout the placement. Premium Employer also includes everything in Employer, AI-generated interview questions and featured job posts. Staff you hire through your own job posts are regular placements and do not include the Premium placement benefits.
What is Premium Staff?
Premium Staff is an optional plan for verified staff at ₦20,000 a year, for staff who want to be seen first, matched faster and trusted more. You get a Premium badge, priority ranking and highlighted applications; early job alerts, priority matching and access to premium households; continuous Unik Hands training with skills certification and career development; and enhanced verification that employers can see, ratings from employers and priority support. You need a verified Staff account, enhanced verification and a complete professional profile.
How do I pay the verification fee, and when do I get my wallet?
You pay the one-time verification fee by bank transfer, from any Nigerian bank, to the account number we give you on the verification page. Your Unik Hands wallet (provided by our banking partner 9PSB) is opened for you once our team approves your verification, and we send you its account number. You do not need a wallet to get verified.
How do salary payments work?
Once your verification is approved, your Unik Hands wallet (provided by our banking partner 9PSB) is opened for you. You fund it by bank transfer, then pay your staff's salary from your wallet straight to theirs, with a record of every payment.
Can I get a refund?
Verification fees are not refundable once the checks have been run, because we pay for them when they are carried out. The yearly Employer plan fee is not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If you were charged in error or charged twice, contact support and we will put it right.
Hiring and working
How do I hire someone?
Create an employer account, verify your identity and choose a plan. Then post a job describing the role, location and hours, whether it is live-in or live-out, and the monthly salary. Verified staff apply, and you review their profiles, message them and interview them in the app before you make an offer. On Premium Employer you can also ask for a Premium placement, and our team hand-picks the candidate for you.
What happens if my staff member leaves?
Record the end of the employment in the app (staff can resign and employers can request a termination), then post a new job. Verified applicants can apply straight away. On the Employer plan you can post unlimited jobs for the year, and on Premium Employer job posts are free, so there is nothing extra to pay to post again. A new Premium placement is charged per placement.
How are disputes handled?
Use the query system in the app to raise problems formally, so there is a written record. If you cannot resolve a dispute, ask for mediation through support: our team reviews the records from both sides and helps you reach a fair outcome. Mediation does not replace anyone's rights under Nigerian law, including the Labour Act, and either side can take a dispute to the appropriate authorities or the courts.
Can I hire staff for part-time work?
Yes. When you post a job you choose the type of job (full-time, part-time or contract) and describe the working days and hours, for example weekends only. You also choose whether the job is live-in, where the staff member lives in your home, or live-out, where they go home after work.
What is the minimum salary for a job?
Every job on Unik Hands must pay at least the minimum monthly salary: ₦85,000 for a live-in job, where the staff member lives in your home, and ₦120,000 for a live-out job, where they go home after work. Live-in jobs must also provide accommodation and feeding; for live-out jobs these are optional. A job below the minimum cannot be published, and the same minimums apply to Premium placements. Each job post shows whether it is live-in or live-out and whether accommodation and feeding are included.
Which cities do you cover?
Unik Hands is available across Nigeria. We also have local hiring guides for Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Enugu, Benin City, Owerri and Abeokuta. Our office is in Port Harcourt.

Verification
What checks do staff go through?
Before a staff profile is approved we check the BVN and NIN with Korapay, review a recent address document, compare a selfie with the ID (our team reviews it with AI assistance), and confirm two guarantors, who each confirm their details online. Our team reviews every profile before approval.
How long does verification take?
The BVN and NIN checks run when you submit your details. The rest depends mostly on how quickly your guarantors confirm and on our team's review during support hours. You can follow the status of each step in the app.
Are employers verified too?
Yes. Before they can hire, employers go through BVN and NIN checks and an address check, and registered businesses also provide their CAC number and CAC certificate. This protects staff as well as employers.
