Unik Hands helps you employ a gateman or security guard directly. We are not a guard company: we do not supply armed guards or run patrols. What we do is check the identity, address and guarantors of everyone who applies, so you know who is at your gate.
What a security guard typically does
- Controlling the gate and keeping a visitors' log

- Night watch and regular checks of the compound

- Calling you and the relevant emergency number when something is wrong

What to check yourself
- If you need armed guards or a guard company, use a company licensed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
- Ask about previous security jobs and speak to those employers if you can.
- Agree shift times, where they rest, and who relieves them on days off.
What to put in your job post
- Day or night shift, and the hours
- Live-in (for example a boys' quarters) or live-out
- The size of the compound and the number of gates
- Extra duties such as the generator, the pump or car washing
- The monthly salary you are offering: at least ₦85,000 for a live-in job or ₦120,000 for a live-out job

You agree the salary directly with the person you hire, and no commission or fee is taken when salary is paid. Staff pay their own one-time verification fee of ₦10,000. Fees can change; the app shows the current fee before you confirm a payment. See what each plan includes
